House of Waalid, 2022 SA Menswear Week AW22

South African Menswear Week is Africa’s leading stand-alone fashion week that’s dedicated to the development and promotion of menswear within the African continent. Taking place in Cape Town, SAMW aims to provide the necessary platform for designers to increase their brand exposure and, ultimately, grow their businesses.

This year’s South African Menswear Week made its return to in-person shows for the autumn/winter 2022 collections. The event showcased the latest collections from more than 10 of the continent’s top emerging menswear talent including Vyagor Louvre, House of Waalid, Nao Serati and more.

Known for its denim jeans, Durban-based brand Vyagor Louvre presented monochromee zig-zag prints and leather-look pants along with T-shirts paying tribute to South African musical artist Riccardo Makhado aka Riky Rik, who passed away earlier this year, while Rwandan designer MasaMara sent tailored separates rendered in colorful African print textiles down the runway. Take a look below at some of the collections.
